E.A. Buck is a fast-growing financial services company with dual headquarters in Denver and Honolulu. We’re seeking a Paralegal to join our growing team! The Paralegal provides legal, regulatory, and administrative support to the Chief Legal Officer (CLO) and Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), as well as internal business partners across the firm. This role is responsible for preparing and maintaining legal documentation, assisting with contract management, supporting regulatory and compliance activities, and ensuring accurate recordkeeping across corporate, client, and transactional matters. The Paralegal plays a critical role in supporting risk management, operational efficiency, and adherence to applicable laws and firm policies while delivering high-quality internal client service. Candidate will be based in Denver, CO.

This position is a full-time position, working on-site at our Denver office.

NOTE: Only people who are currently living in Colorado will be considered for this role.

 

Salary / Benefits Package:

  • Base Salary range of $45,000 to $55,000 per year, based on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, proofread, and format legal documents including contracts, agreements, corporate resolutions, disclosures, and correspondence.
  • Assist attorneys with regulatory filings, audits, examinations, and responses to regulatory inquiries.
  • Conduct legal and factual research related to financial services regulations, contracts, and corporate governance matters.
  • Maintain organized legal files and documentation in accordance with firm policies, retention schedules, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Track key legal deadlines, filings, renewals, and compliance obligations.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather information and documentation needed for legal matters.
  • Prepare standard contractual documents and assist with revisions under attorney supervision.
  • Track contract execution, amendments, renewals, and expirations.
  • Coordinate signatures, notarizations, and document delivery.
  • Assist with onboarding documentation for vendors, partners, and clients as required.
  • Maintain contract databases and status reports.
  • Assist with compliance reviews, internal audits, and policy updates.
  • Support monitoring and documentation of regulatory requirements affecting the firm.
  • Help prepare compliance reports and internal communications.
  • Ensure sensitive information is handled in accordance with privacy and security standards.
  • Escalate potential compliance issues or risks as identified.
  • Manage calendars, deadlines, and task lists related to legal matters.
  • Coordinate meetings, document reviews, and internal communications.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to internal requests.
  • Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies considered with relevant experience.
  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred.
  • 2–4 years of professional paralegal or legal support experience required.
  • Job offer is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation, inclusive of fingerprinting and reference checks.

 

Prior experience in one or more of the following preferred:

  • Financial services, banking, investment advisory, or insurance environments
  • Corporate, securities, compliance, or regulatory law
  • In-house legal department or mid-size law firm
  • Series 24 preferred.

Preferred certifications include:

  • Certified Paralegal (CP® – NALA)
  • Advanced Certified Paralegal (ACP®)
  • Professional Paralegal (PP® – NALS)
  • Compliance-related certificates (such as securities or regulatory compliance coursework)
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Self-directed and self-motivated
