As Chief Strategy Officer of E.A. Buck Financial Services, Mike Cottet leads the firm’s long-term growth strategy, business development initiatives, and merger and acquisition efforts. Working alongside the executive leadership team, he is responsible for identifying opportunities that strengthen the organization, expand its national footprint, and support the firm’s continued evolution as a comprehensive financial services company.

Mike oversees strategic planning across multiple areas of the business, including corporate development, strategic partnerships, lead generation, and acquisitions. His focus is on building scalable growth strategies that enhance both the client experience and the firm’s long-term value while positioning E.A. Buck for continued expansion.

Prior to joining E.A. Buck, Mike spent nearly 15 years with Stansberry Research, one of the nation’s leading independent financial research and publishing firms, where he rose to Executive Vice President. There, he led high-performing sales and business development teams through a sustained period of exceptional growth, consistently delivering double-digit annual revenue increases while helping scale the organization into an industry leader. Throughout his career, Mike has built organizations recognized for exceeding ambitious growth objectives, expanding strategic partnerships, and fostering cultures centered on accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

With extensive executive leadership experience in the financial services industry, Mike brings a strategic, data-driven approach to organizational growth and business transformation. He believes sustainable growth begins with great people, disciplined execution, and a commitment to continually improving the value delivered to clients, employees, and business partners.

Mike earned his dual degree Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Finance (M.B.A. and M.Fin.) from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from Wake Forest University.
